Over a year ago, Bro. Hohman started having Bible studies at the prison. In January of 2007, he invited the whole church to
come and have "services" with the inmates. We baptized our first prisoners, Travis, Clyde, and Val, at FPCD in January
and February! Two of those, Val, and Travis, began attending church in February after their court date. Travis, who was addicted
to meth for 10 years, received the holyghost that month! Praise God! We continued to have services and God continued to move.
At the end of May, Richard Sandusky, another inmate, professed his desire to be baptized. Since he was the property of another
county, Bro. Hohman had to call and ask if he could be brought to the church to be baptized. Fairly rudely, they refused to
allow it, even though we are within walking distance of the prison. They said he could be baptized, but he couldn't step out
of the prison doors.
For the past couple of years, Bro. Hohman has be-friended the Marshall, Clifty Yoakum, and called to ask him if
we could bring the baptismal tank (horse trough) to the prison instead! He said, "Sure! I'll help you too!" Praise
God! We're reaching the Marshall as well! The evening of the baptism, while Bro. Hohman was filling the tank, he teasingly
asked another inmate who had been taking a long time to "warm up" to the church, Joe Johnson, if he wanted to be
baptized too. He replied, "Yeah! And Wesley Barnhart (another prisoner) wants to be baptized too!" Halelujah! It
doesn't stop there! Wesley asked that we go and ask his mother and step-father to come and watch the baptism. Bro. Hohman
and Sis. Heather went to ask. Charles Hogshooter (the step-father) and his wife, Linda, had been throwing a party for their
daughter, Kyla Barnhart's, birthday. Linda and Kyla are both deaf, so Sis. Heather interpreted to them what was being told,
and they replied, "We would love to, except for we've been drinking." Sis. Heather replied that they were welcome
anyway, and the three of them came to watch. Also, a young mand named Jack Hooten had been attending the church for some time,
and asked to be baptized that night as well! The first four baptisms occurred, and many sins were washed away already when
Charles, Linda, and Kyla stated that they wanted theirs washed away that night too! PRAISE GOD!!! Seven baptisms that evening
at the Dixon Jail House, and only three of them were prisoners! Hallelujah!!! God's been so good! Since then, Charles and
Linda have been attending our church, and on Father's day evening, they both received the baptism of the Holy Ghost!
