History of First Pentecostal Church and Pastor's family...
Beginning with home Bible studies in the Dixon area, Pastor Darrell Blackwell, from the Vichy Pentecostal Church, established the church that is now First Pentecostal Church of Dixon. After awhile, Bro. Blackwell wanted to find a pastor for this new flock and got in contact with the Hohmans' pastor in St. Louis. In August of 2004, Rev. Robert Hohman, Sr. and his family moved to Dixon to assume the pastorate."We felt it was indeed the will of God for us and our ministry. We have been working in the field ever since." During his first year here, Pastor Hohman made this statement to the congregation: "Grab the oars with me and pull in the same direction." Through unity, we have grown in the past and are in a growth mode presently. God's promises for revival in the Dixon area are rich and we are looking forward to it!
Pastor Hohman initiated the church's theme: People * Purpose * Passion, and its resulting motto: "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." We are always looking for souls to come, and welcome everyone. Nearly all visitors agree that our church is very warm, loving, and friendly. We invite you to visit and find out for yourself!
